At Specialty Tile Products, we are dedicated to ensuring that products with purpose make it into every project.
While the manufacturing process of tile does require a large amount of natural gas to produce, this firing process makes tile longevity the best option of any construction finish available. Tile can and will outlive all of us. If the initial life expectancy of a building is 60 years, a design that includes a classic tile look as the background canvas for trends that come & go, as decades move forward, the tile will still be there, looking as new as the day it was installed. By comparison, LVT would need to be switched out every 15 years (assuming it’s not heavy traffic and under optimal circumstances).

In 2023, Specialty Tile Products became a proud member of the US Green Building Council. It is our commitment to be
environmentally and socially responsible for building a better future. We stay at the forefront of industry discussions and actively
advance these priorities within the market. Our goal is to be a part of green building initiatives, one LEED product at a time.

Sustainability Commitments
Manufacturing Partners
By partnering with global manufacturers who are aligned with our mission of protecting the environment, we are able to promote product lines that have been manufactured under the highest environmental standards. Tile manufacturers have set the standard for eco-conscious productions. They recycle 100% of the water used in the manufacturing tile, most include post-consumer ground-up glass or second-quality ground up porcelain in their tile. In addition, darker colored tile tends to have more recycled material content than lighter colored tile.
Reuse Initiatives
In addition to our sustainable product lines, we also strive to make sure that our tile doesn’t end up in landfills. We partner with organizations like Habitat for Humanity and Lifecycle Building Center to ensure obsolete tile gets a second chance at life while also helping build our communities. These programs allow us to donate tiles that were once considered obsolete and on their way to a landfill, and find new life all around town.
Conscious Packaging
All of our samples are packaged with care using recycled cardboard and eco-friendly packing peanuts. Not only is it important to us that your samples arrive safely, but also that they arrive with a reduced carbon footprint.
On a larger scale, we also work closely with our top suppliers to consolidate shipments and reduce carbon emissions from trucks on the road.
